This statement is drafted to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation, 2018 (GDPR). Members should note that the requirements of the GDPR do not require any change in the Society's policies or practices compared to the preceding Data Protection Act, 1988

Lichfield Civic Society will use your data solely for the purpose of administering the affairs of the Society. We will never sell or share your personal data with other organisations other than for statutory purposes. We respect your privacy and make every endeavour to meet the requirements of the Data Protection Regulations. This document explains what data we collect and how we use it. This policy applies to you if you are a member or volunteer of the Society.

By becoming a member of this Society you enter into a contract with the Society in which you agree to pay a subscription to the Society in return for free admission to public meetings and any other benefits that the Society may, from time to time, provide.

Please note that no data which is classified as "Sensitive" or "Special Category Data" by the GDPR is held by the society. The only personal data which we collect is that you will have provided on joining the Society or when renewing your subscription:

• Your name, title and postal address;
• The date when you joined the Society;
• The date, if any, of your Gift Aid consent;
• The payment details of your subscriptions and any donations;
• Your usual contact details such as an E/mail Address or Telephone number.

Members have the right to request a copy of the data held on them, to review the accuracy, to have errors in the data corrected and to request the deletion of the data on termination of their membership. To do this you will need to contact the Treasurer who is responsible for holding your personal details. This right may be exercised by E/mail: treasurer@lichfieldcivicsociety.org.uk or by post to the address given on your membership card.
